Wayland: Folk Fest
WAYLAND—Fellow folk music lovers will be gathering for the Rabbit River Folk Festival on Saturday, Aug. 2, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Wayland City Park.
The festival features artists, jam sessions, workshops, kids crafts, an open mic stage and jamming tent.

12 p.m. Phil and JD
1 p.m. Pryer Times
2 p.m. The Tanis Sisters
3 p.m. Basement Bluegrass Band
4 p.m. Desert Squirrel String Band
5 p.m. Thornapple Valley Strings
6 p.m. Luke Lenhart Band
7 p.m. Great Lakes Graham and the Fiddleman
Free workshops include:
11 a.m. Beginning strumsticking with a strolling dulcimer. Instruments will be provided, but are limited.
1 p.m. Learning guitar fingerpickin’. A few instruments will be on hand. Bring your own if you have one.
3 p.m. Autoharp gospel-style. Bring your own autoharp or watch and listen.
5 p.m. Upper Grass: how to get the most sound out of a two-piece band with a guitar and fiddle player (like in da U.P.)
Bring a chair, a picnic basket or patronize the local downtown food venues.
