The news leading up to the Division 4 regional race in Allendale on Saturday, Oct. 25, wasn’t good for the Saugatuck boys’ cross country team.

Based on the final rankings of the regular season, the Division 2 girls’ cross country regional at Portage West Middle School should have been a nip-and-tuck battle between Otsego and St.
Prior to this season, the Otsego boys’ cross country team had qualified for the state finals as a team five of the past seven years.
