When it opens March 30, the new fieldhouse and training facility at Allegan’s middle school will signify more than a year of district-wide renovations wrapping up.

The building cost just over $2 million to complete and was right on budget, according to district superintendent Kevin Harness.

The multi-use facility is equipped for baseball, softball, track, cross country, tennis, basketball, volleyball, soccer and golf.

Community members are invited to tour the fieldhouse during the March 30 open house from 2 to 4 p.m. Refreshments will be served.

“We are hoping there is a good deal of community use,” Harness said. “They can walk, jog and use the court for any sports people want to play.”
