Saugatuck: Venetian Festival
SAUGATUCK—Groovy times, peace, love and fun will reign during the Saugatuck Venetian Festival, bearing the theme “The ‘60s,” Friday and Saturday, July 27 and 28.
The festival will begin with children’s games Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Coghlin Park gazebo. The concert area at the corner of Culver and Griffith streets will open at 5 p.m. Admission is $5 per adult. Beverages and food will be available throughout the evening.
The 1980s tribute band Starfarm will return at 7:15 p.m. for its fifth year at the festival.
Fun Saturday will start at 11 a.m. with registration for the Dinghy Poker Run at the Coghlin Park gazebo. The poker run starts at noon and boaters run up the Kalamazoo River.
Later Saturday, “The ‘60s” themed lighted boat parade will start at 9:15 p.m.
After the parade is a fireworks show over Kalamazoo Lake starting around 10 p.m.
