New studies show office workers who append moral quotes to their emails or perch religious icons on their desks may pre-empt their bosses from asking them to do things that are unethical.
Reliance on old-fashioned “virtue” may mean you don’t get that big promotion. So I’ve thumb-tacked quotes to my cubicle walls reading:
• “There’s a sucker born every minute.” – P.T. Barnum
• “I can resist anything but temptation.” – Oscar Wilde, and
• “When I’m good, I’m really good. But when I’m bad, I’m better.” – Mae West
I’ve also erected a Donald Trump statue on my desk.
