With winter weather already making life cold and snowy, local school districts are offering ways to stay active and keep warm throughout the season.

Otsego

Otsego Public Schools community education director Marcia Hukill said the district offers pool, weight room and gym activities to community members.

Washington Street Elementary hosts a Zumba class Tuesday night from 7:45 to 8:45 p.m. in the school’s cafeteria. Cost is $4 per person.

A co-ed volleyball drop-in league also takes place Tuesday nights at the middle school gym. Prices for the league vary depending on the number of nights purchased.

Otsego’s pool offers lap swim, open swim and aqua aerobics.

Lap swim runs Monday and Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Tuesday and Wednesday from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. and Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The cost is $2 per adult with prices varying for seniors, students and families.

Open swim runs each Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. for the same prices.

Aqua aerobics takes place each Tuesday and Wednesday from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. The cost is $3 for adults, with different pricing available for seniors and college students for this adult-only event.

The Monday after Thanksgiving, Otsego High School’s indoor track and weight room will open to the public through spring break.

The upstairs amenities will be open Monday through Thursday from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Use of the track is free but there is a $2 cost to use the weight room.
