Plainwell plans open house at former mill
The City of Plainwell is hosting an open house Wednesday, Dec. 17, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. to show the community how the mill project is progressing at its new city hall, 211 N. Main St.
“We’re inviting the public to come in and see the facility,” said Plainwell’s economic development manager Denise Siegel. “We’ll showcase the changes that have been made and the future plans.”
The open house will include tours of city hall—which the city moved into this past June—and the Conestoga-Rovers & Associates offices.
CRA—the company overseeing the mill property redevelopment—and the city offices share one of the former mill buildings.
Siegel said many community members and former mill employees have been coming to see the offices and the work that has been completed.
“They are really reminiscing and we thought it was time to get people in here,” she said.
In addition to tours, the vision plan for the future of the property will be displayed and staff will be on hand to answer questions and listen to ideas from the community.
Everyone is welcome and refreshments will be provided.
