Plainwell offers 5k, 10k, fun run and bar crawl on June 12

Plainwell Education Foundation’s seventh annual Racin’ the Island City 5K/10K and Family Fun Run is set for Thursday, June 12.

Racin’ the Island City is sponsored by the Plainwell Education Foundation with proceeds helping the schools in many ways, including providing scholarships for excelling students and teachers.

It doesn’t matter how long it takes to get to the finish line. There are options for everyone.
The schedule of events includes:
5 p.m. Packet pick-up begins at Hicks Park
6:40 p.m. One-Mile Family Fun Run
7 p.m. Start of the 5K and 10K
For a more leisurely pace, “Crawlin’ the Island City” is offered. This event is for those 21 and older. Participating establishments include Rhino’s Hometown Pub, Joe’s Pizza and Sports Bar, 10th Street Saloon and the Old Mill Brewpub and Grill. Registration is from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Hicks Park. 
Participants pick up a “passport” and visit all participating venues, make a purchase and turn in the stamped passport by 10 p.m. to be eligible for the grand prize drawing. Advanced registration is $15 and includes a T-shirt. Same day registration is $20 and does not guarantee a T-shirt.
