Victoria Thornell and Rick File, along with sons Tom and Sam (obscured) File, lead the pack across the trestle bridge. Shirley Willfinger and her daughter Kristen lead some walkers across Main Street Bridge near the beginning of the walk.It was fairly warm so Hailee Lamorandier decided to let Bella stop for a water break.

A mostly-nice day for the Plainwell Bridge Walk

Plainwell’s traditional Labor Day Bridge Walk, Monday, Sept. 1, had about 50 walkers this year.

The event benefits the Plainwell Arts Council, and president Cathy Green said the $1,600 raised was earmarked toward the council’s current biggest priority, public art procurement.

Green said the walkers saw a little rain  along the way but escaped most of it. However, she thought the threat of rain had probably held a few people off.
