Owner of Saugatuck's former Elbo Room seeks liquor license
The owner of the 100-seat, riverfront building that once housed the Elbo Room hopes to reopen a restaurant at 880 Holland St. with new operators and a liquor license.
Saugatuck City Council Monday tabled acting on Larry Basil’s request to apply to Michigan Liquor Control Commission for a Class C Resort or Quota License transfer. Members said they hoped to learn more about his plans there and receive input from site neighbors.
“We’ve heard concerns about this property before,” said councilman Barry Johnson. “It’s in a mixed-use area with homes nearby.
