Fennville Public Schools: Bernie Garlock

Fennville Public Schools has two six-year terms and two four-year terms available.

Incumbent John Raak is joined in the race for the two six-year terms by Bernie Garlock and Tobias Hutchins.

Incumbent Julio Cesar Almanza and newcomer Juliet Michele are running unopposed for the four-year terms.

Candidates below were each asked what they thought of the superintendent’s decisions and how they would address the district’s budget.

Bernie Garlock

Garlock, 36, grew up in the district and moved back there in 2010. He is a father of two and works as a technician with Graham Packaging in Holland. He is a 1997 graduate of Fennville High School.

“I am the father of two children who attend Fennville Public Schools. I am very active in a lot of school activities.

“I grew up in the Fennville district and plan to stay for a long time.

“I feel it is important for parents to be active in their students’ education and stay informed of all school activities and participate to the best of our ability to insure our school runs smoothly.

“Education is the most important phase of all children’s lives.”
