Allegan: Veterans Ceremony
ALLEGAN—A ceremony at the riverfront plaza’s Veterans Memorial Park will begin at 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 12, with a moment of silence. In honor of the 100th anniversary of Armistice Day, a special presentation of “trench art” from an ammunition casing, inscribed the day after Armistice Day 1918, will be presented to the Allegan County Historical Society. Veterans are invited to the Fraternal Order of Eagles for coffee and donuts and to the American Legion Post 89, at 632 Eastern Ave., following the ceremony.
Immanuel Lutheran Church in Allegan is sponsoring a luncheon for all veterans and active duty military and their spouse/significant other on Veterans Day, Monday, Nov. 12, at noon. The menu will consist of ham and all the trimmings. This luncheon is free and is the congregation’s way of showing their appreciation. The church is at 631 Grand St.
