Basement Beat: County senior millage

Numbers by precinct

Here’s the next in a series of stories in which I plan to post precinct-by-precinct data from the Aug. 5 primary.

(The data is not compiled this time around on the county website, as it has been some years in the past.)

As I’ve said before, information from the precinct level is very detailed but interesting, I think.

Today, I'll show the numbers for the Allegan County Senior Millage. Overall, it passed by a 10,061-4,804 vote.

It marks an increase in the millage that started out smaller four year ago. Now it will be a 0.436-mill tax (an increase of 0.196 mill) for a four-year period. It is set to collect an estimated $1,819,446 in the first year.

The millage funds are used to provide services to help seniors remain independent in their homes including home delivered meals, adult day care, senior transportation, personal emergency response and in-home support.

The list below shows the name of the precinct followed by a yes-vote total and a no-vote total.

The data is from a list provided by the Allegan County Clerk's office.
