Walter Burl Owsiany, 67

Walter Burl Owsiany, 67, passed away Sunday, Sept. 7, 2014, at his home in Allegan. He was born July 27, 1947, in Van Buren County, the son of Walter and Violet (Osborne) Owsiany.
Walt served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He retired from GTE and had since worked at odd jobs to keep him active in his retirement. His favorite past time was riding his motorcycle, going on road trips such as the scenic Route 66, and visiting casinos for their free coffee.  
Walter is survived by his two sons, Walt (Sandy) Owsiany of Allegan and Thomas Owsiany of Lawton; his grandkids, Alyssa Mae Owsiany, Nicolas Garrett and Harrison Cole Owsiany; two brothers and two sisters; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.  
A gathering of friends and family will be Sunday, Sept. 14, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Shamrock Hills Golf Club, 31071 CR-390, Gobles. All riders are encouraged to ride and participate in a "rumble salute" at 2:30 p.m.
Inurnment will be at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Walt's memory may be made to the American Legion Post 89, c/o Allegan Heroes, 632 Eastern Ave., Allegan, MI  49010.
