Stella C. Frost, 85

Stella C. Frost, 85, of Gobles, Bloomingdale and Allegan,passed away April 6, 2019, at Wings Home in Allegan. 

Stella was born Sept. 16, 1933, in Ecorse, the daughter of Maximillon and Jennie (Swartzback) Pabis and has lived in the Bloomingdale, Gobles area since 1970.

She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Paw Paw, and Project Nehemiah. She was a nurse for 40 years, and was known for her Christian walk. She enjoyed her flowers, spending time with her family, grandchildren and was the matriarch of five generations. 

Surviving are her five children, Sheryl (David) Bostian of Lincoln Park, James (Sally) Ghist Jr. of Allegan, Thomas Ghist of Hagar Shores, Carol (Monty) Holsonback Jr. and Fredrick Ghist  of Allegan; 11 grandchildren, Christopher, Darrell, James III, Clara, Aaron, Amy, Joshua, Shelby, Sara, Heather and Ben; 18 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; four sisters, Theresa, Dorothy, Louise and Cecila; a brother Andrew; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her first husband James H. Ghist Sr.; second husband Claire Frost; two grandchildren, beloved Emalyn and Brian; brother Walter; and four sisters, Alice, Joanne, Martha and Maxine.

The family will meet friends Wednesday, April 10, from12 to  2 p.m. at the Bloomingdale Chapel, D. L. Miller Funeral Home, where the funeral service will be at 2 p.m. with Pastor Ron Kammeraad officiating. Interment will follow in Lindsley Cemetery, Cheshire Township.
