Robert Sidney “Bob” Lefley III, 87
Robert Sidney “Bob” Lefley III, 87, passed away peacefully at his home in Holland on May 13, 2018. Bob was born and raised in River Forest, Ill., and was the only child of Robert and Edna Lefley.
He was a graduate of Oak Park River Forest High School and earned a bachelor's degree in Engineering at Purdue University. While at Purdue, Bob was an active member of the Indiana Delta Chapter of the Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church in River Forest and during the most recent years, he was an active member of the Community Church of Douglas in Douglas.
Bob is survived by his wife of 65 years, Annette Weaver Lefley; daughter, Christine D. Lefley and husband Jack Junewick (granddaughter Elaney Katsafanas and great grandson Liam Hasselman); son, Robert S. Lefley IV and wife Cindy Lefley (grandson Robert S. Lefley V and wife Meredith, and granddaughter Jenna Lefley), son, David W. Lefley (grandsons, Jason Lefley, Benjamin Lefley, and granddaughter Emma Lefley), son, William W. Lefley and wife Toni McCormick Britz-Lefley (grandsons, Caleb Lefley and Christian Lefley, and granddaughters, Kelsey Lefley and Molly Britz, grandson, Peter Joseph Britz and wife Shanon Britz, great grandson Peter Charles Britz II); and sister-in-law Desiree Heussy and husband Peter of Seattle, Wash.
A memorial service will be Saturday, Aug. 4, at 5 p.m. at the Community Church of Douglas, 6780 E Wiley Road, Douglas, MI with Dr. Dan Miller and Pastor Jeff Messner officiating.
In a private ceremony with his family, Bob’s cremated remains will be buried in the Memorial Gardens of The Community Church Of Douglas Michigan.
