LaRone Marie Kendzora Jones, 94
LaRone Marie Kendzora Jones, 94, of Saugatuck, formerly of Stevensville, passed away at Pine Ridge Rehabilitation and Nursing center on Sunday, April 15, 2018.
LaRone was born on March 3, 1924, in Chicago, Ill., to Walter and Marie (Denemark) Kubistal. She moved to Stevensville in 1952 where she raised her two children. She then moved to Saugatuck in 1989 where she made many friends, especially through St. Peter’s Catholic Church.
LaRone played the saxaphone in an all-girl orchestra, along with her sister during the late 30s and early 40s. She enjoyed music, dancing, cooking and sewing. She also enjoyed going to lunch with her friends. Most of all she loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
LaRone is survived by her children, Scott (JoLynn) Kendzora of Sarasota, Fla. and Lynn Hardke of St. Joseph; brother Walter “Bud” (Ardie) Kubistal of Stevensville; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
LaRone was preceded in death by her parents; first husband and her children’s father Frank “Scotty” Kendzora; sister Margaret Zmarzly; second husband Rolland Jones; step-son Robert Jones; son-in-law Kevin Hardke; and special friend Harry Dekker.
According to her wishes, she has been cremated. There is a memorial service being planned for this summer.
