James Lynn Burdick, 74
James Lynn Burdick, 74, of Allegan passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at Ely Manor, Allegan. He was born Oct. 14, 1939, in Allegan, the son of Cecil and Hattie (Wolters) Burdick.
James graduated from Allegan High School in 1958. In 1960, he married his high school sweetheart, Linda Ross. He is a graduate of Ferris State University. He had worked at Ace Engravers in Plainwell; Stoney Ford Car Sales in Gobles; Merson Grocery; and in Home Improvement.
James had an appreciation for old cars, woodworking, and fishing, but most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren and attending their sporting events.
James is survived by his beloved wife Linda; his daughters, Melissa (Jon) Drozd, Elizabeth (Scott) Engelsman and Jennifer (Jerry) Veenkant; his grandchildren, Jake, Ryan, Kelly (Allison), Chris (Kaileigh), Jim, Nicole, Allison, Jonathan (Holly) and Jamie (Jordan); his sisters, Sally Fairfield and Phyllis (Dennis) Kellar; and several nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as several wonderful friends.
Friends may join the family for a celebration of life on Sunday, July 20, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Allegan Township Hall, with a short service at 2 p.m.
