Warren J. Kratky, 90
Warren J. Kratky, 90, passed away in Laguna Woods, Calif. on March 15, 2015, following his third trial with lung cancer.
He was born June 13, 1924, in St. Louis, Mo. After graduating with highest honors from Cleveland High School in St. Louis, he was awarded a full academic scholarship to Harvard University where he graduated Summa Cum Laude after just three years.
Warren began and ended his working career at Gardner Advertising Company, rising from a role in the creative department to president and chairman of the board.
He retired at the age of 52 to begin an adventurous retirement with his wife, Estel R. Kratky, who's death preceded his by nine years following 52 years of marriage. They spent these years enjoying their two homes in Saugatuck and Palm Springs, Calif.
Warren is survived by his son Bryan Kratky and his wife Christine; daughter Karen Kratky Lehrer and her husband Steven; granddaughters. Anna Ruth Kratky, Mary Elizabeth Kratky, Alexandra Emily Lehrer and Elizabeth Marie Lehrer; sister Kay Gilmour; and step-daughter Gail Kearney.
He is remembered as a loving husband and father, scholar, author, friend and philanthropist.
