Two local World War II vets on next ‘Honor Flight’

The Talons Out Honor Flight planned for this spring will include a pair of World War II veterans from Allegan County.

The flight will leave Kalamazoo Saturday, April 25, and return the same day after taking the World War II veterans to Washington, D.C., to see the memorials for that war.

When they return to Kalamazoo, there will be a homecoming parade from the airport to Lox Norrix High School.

Local veterans planning to go along are Tom Tearney of Allegan and Chet Brenner of Hopkins. Both will have an escort during their time in D.C. and on the plane.

Anyone wishing to write letters to the men thanking them for their service can send them to John West, 1429 Glencoe, Allegan, MI 49010 before the flight or drop one off at The Allegan County News office, 231 Trowbridge St., Suite 17, in Allegan (basement of the old Sackett’s Building) and they will be passed along.
