Stay active this winter at local school districts

With winter’s bold arrival, Allegan Public Schools is offering several ways to stay active indoors throughout the cold weather season.

The Allegan Fieldhouse will open to the community Monday through Friday in the morning from 6 to 7:30 and evenings from 5:30 to 7:30.

During this time individuals are invited to walk or run around the indoor track free of charge. Basketball and tennis courts are available to the public for a fee.

Lap swim takes place Monday through Thursday from 6:30 to 7:30 a.m.; Monday through Friday from noon to 1 p.m.; and Tuesday and Wednesday from 7 to 8 p.m.

Daytime cost is $2 and evening cost is $3.

Senior swim occurs Tuesday from 3 to 4 p.m. and Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. and is free for seniors.

Family fun swimming takes place on Tuesday and Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at a cost of $1 per person

Aqua fitness, aqua zumba and other classes are also offered at the pool.
