Longtime AMFCO employee speaks in aftermath of fire
Verna Minegar, above, has worked at Allegan Metal Finishing Company in Allegan for nearly 20 years. After fire burned it to the ground Sunday (March 15), she and its other 80 employees are looking for work.
Allegan County Economic Development and Michigan Works teamed up to offer a workshop Monday, March 16, to help employees with information about signing up for unemployment benefits and for tips on where to go to prepare resumes.
It was at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, and Minegar spoke with media in the parking lot after the meeting ended.
The first interviewer voice is that of Allegan County News editor Ryan Lewis; later, a Fox17 reporter joins in the questioning.
