Police hope surveillance video from Plainwell area break in will lead to tips
Police are seeking a man who broke into Third Base Convenience Store in Gun Plain Township early on Memorial Day.
According to the Allegan County Sheriff Department, deputies were called to the store about 1:18 a.m. Monday, May 26, after a witness reported hearing an alarm sounding and seeing the front door had been smashed.
The sheriff department said the suspect appeared to have smashed the glass door at the store, on 10th Street just north of Plainwell, and stolen alcohol and cigarettes. He may have fled in a dark-colored SUV, possibly a Ford Explorer, police said.
Detectives have released a surveillance video showing the perpetrator and ask that anyone with information call them at (269) 673-7163 or the sheriff’s department general number at (269) 673-0500.
