Gun Plain Township advises county not to regulate ORVs

Daniel Pepper, Interim Editor

Gun Plain Township board members had a clear answer on whether they wanted Allegan County to enact an ordinance allowing off-road vehicles on local roads.

“Nope, we’re fine.”

Township supervisor Mike VanDenBerg put the question to the township board at its Thursday, June 5, regular meeting.
“The county commission is seeking our input,” VanDenBerg said.
A group of ORV enthusiasts had petitioned the county commission to enact a county ordinance. Currently, townships can enact laws allowing ORVs to travel on roads, if they wish.
