TRI Allegan:

Participants brave the heat to compete in fourth annual even

On a base level, the TRI Allegan sprint triathlon is about raising money for the Allegan All-Sports Booster Club.
But event organizer Misty Angle said in reality, TRI Allegan is about much more than that.
“Every year we hear inspiring stories,” Angle said. “Spectators and volunteers who see the race for the first time and say, ‘I want to do this next year.’ That’s what it’s all about, inspiring someone.”
TRI Allegan continued its tradition of inspiring others when the fourth annual race was held at Allegan’s Littlejohn Park on Tuesday, July 22.
As usual, Angle and the other event volunteers did their best to make it a special experience for the athletes.
“This year’s triathlon turned out to be amazing,” Angle said.  “We strive for top-notch volunteers, shirts, food for our athletes, water along the route and just making all the athletes feel special. Athletic levels don’t matter with this race. Anyone is welcome. We want to see people get out there and try to accomplish something they never thought they could.”
