Three Otsego bowlers receive All-Conference honors

The Otsego boys’ bowling team entered the Wolverine Conference Championships at Paw Paw’s Rainbow Lanes on Friday, Feb. 19, tied with Three Rivers for second place behind Sturgis.
But the Bulldogs finished fourth at the tournament—which was played using all Baker games—to finish third in the final standings.
Plainwell was fifth at the tournament and sixth overall, while Allegan was eighth in the tournament and seventh overall.
For the girls, Otsego was fourth in the tournament and fourth in the final standings. Allegan and Plainwell tied for seventh overall after respective seventh and eighth-place showings in the tournament.
Sturgis was the winner for both the boys and girls.
Individually, Otsego’s Luke Ford ended with the second-highest league average at 214.5, earning him All-Conference honors. Plainwell’s Trevor Millard was fourth at 206.93, while Bulldog Jared Blanchard was fifth at 201.21 to join Ford as All-Conference selections.
Plainwell’s Ryan Munn (10th at 184.75) and Otsego’s Robert Bryan (14th at 174.21) each earned Honorable Mention recognition.
Sturgis dominated the All-Conference selections on the girls’ side, taking seven of the eight spots. Otsego’s Charlotte Phillips was the only non-Sturgis honoree, checking in at seventh with a 151.14.
Bulldog teammates Megan Aalberts (ninth at 147.00) and Renee Bryan (10th at 145.64) were Honorable Mention.
