Dylan Buresh struck out 10 and scattered five hits in picking up the 5-0 win over Zeeland East in the opening round of the Holland Sentinel Baseball Classic.

Strong pitching leads Hamilton to tourney title

Jason Wesseldyk

How good was the Hamilton pitching staff during the Holland Sentinel Baseball Classic?
Consider this: the Hawkeyes allowed just three runs and 13 hits while striking out 24 batters in 19 innings during their three games.
Given that domination on the mound, it was no surprise to see Hamilton players hoisting the championship trophy after securing an 11-1 win over Zeeland West in the title game on Saturday, May 24.
The game was stopped after five innings due to the mercy rule.
“For the most part our pitching and defense have been solid all year,” Hamilton coach Ken DeGood said.
