Hamilton drops conference match

The Hawkeye tennis team ran into some stiff competition from the perennially strong Holland Christian team and dropped their OK-Green match-up 7-1 on Wednesday, Aug. 27.
Only the number one doubles team of Grant Wolfram and Austin Haverdink were able to secure a win against the strong Maroon team winning easily 6-1, 6-2.
Hamilton’s number two doubles made a serious run at the Christian two doubles team, but came up a little short losing by a frustratingly close 7-5, 7-5 score.
Both the third and fourth doubles team played well, but both came up short with the number three team of Aaron Snay and Zach Elders dropping theirs 6-3, 6-2 and the four doubles team of Nick Grifhorst and Chase Hagen losing 6-4, 6-3.
Hamilton’s number one singles player Justin Folkert had a good first set match against Christian’s Danny Kroeze, but lost some momentum in the second set and dropped the match  6-3, 6-1.
