Allegan’s Logan Stull slides in safely past the Hamilton catcher during the second game of a non-league twinbill.

Dykstra’s no-hitter highlights Hamilton’s sweep of Allegan

Jason Wesseldyk

Allegan junior Max Miniat pitched well in the opening game of a doubleheader with Hamilton on Saturday, May 10.
How well, you ask? Well enough to hold the Hawkeyes scoreless through five innings before ultimately surrendering three runs—one earned—in a complete-game effort that included seven strikeouts, three walks and six hits.
Unfortunately for Miniat and the Tigers, Hamilton junior Landon Dykstra was even better.
Dykstra kept Allegan batters off balance from start to finish, striking out 13 as part of a no-hit effort that resulted in a 3-0 win over the Hawkeyes.
The only blemish for Dykstra, who struck out five Allegan batters multiple times, came in the form of four walks, although he managed to work around all of them.
