Allegan: Kanoe the Kazoo

Friday, August 22, 2014 - 11:00pm

The Kalamazoo River Watershed Council invites the public to Kanoe the Kazoo.
The council’s vision is for the Kalamazoo River, its tributaries, and the overall watershed to be managed, protected, and restored to maximize environmental, social, and economic values and services.
This year kayakers will be paddling several stretches along the Kalamazoo River, Battle Creek River and a special inland lake.
In Allegan County on May 31 is the Allegan to Singapore paddle. July 26 goes from New Richmond to Saugatuck’s Oval Beach. On Aug. 23, two paddles take off from Caulkins Dam at Lake Allegan with one floating to New Richmond and a longer paddle floating to Oval Beach.
Seven other floats are also available. For more information and to register, visit
